hello, dreamer!
I´m Stephanie
This space was born out of my experience moving to a new country and trying to keep myself sane while battling a mental illness. I lived in New York for so long I thought that would be my forever home but life had other plans. Hubby (who’s Italian) and I made the leap to move to Italy, with a 3 month old and 1 year old in tow. Whew chile, maybe the leap was too big but we did it anyway. I had post-partum depression and it took me a long time, and I mean a year or more for me to get the help I needed. Why was it so difficult? A whole host of thangs, but mainly I needed to find someone who could relate to my experiences, speak English and could meet virtually. No easy task my friend! I did manage to find a lovely therapist and so grateful!
I understand you. I’ve been there too!

My story
it wasn’t easy to start but. . .
I finally got the help I needed. I wondered if other immigrants, expats, or nomads had an easier time than me. I spoke to women in my circle and they all related their experiences navigating mental health challenges. And how no one talks about them. Well I’m here to talk about them and bring them to light.
My mission is to build a community where it’s safe to share our struggles, our moments of despair, and the joyous moments too. There is light within in the darkness. I can say for sure it was a roller coaster moving to Italy but now it’s moving to the slow canoe ride down the river.
“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; And to do so with some passion, compassion, humor and some style.”
