Focusing on the How in 2025
Happy belated 2025! It has been a fast-moving start to 2025, and I am just catching up on life and trying to get back into my groove. The Christmas season was incredibly intense. My husband—oh my God, my husband—was working nonstop during the holidays (bless him!), so I took the reins while my babes were home for the whole holidays.
Also, my mom came to visit from the US, so I was doing a lot with the kids and a lot with family. I didn’t have much time for myself, honestly. I don’t know how other folks handle these moments, but lord, I’m glad the holidays are over. Caretakers, I salute you! Props to you, and I hope you’re taking care of yourself!
It can be a lot. So, with all the projects and things and planning, I have been unable to do it until now. But hey, that’s okay because, you know, here I am, I’m going into 2025 with a sense of intention. The intention is this year. And so, in 2025 my words, I have two words this year: Thrive and Intentional. And I’m committing to being more focused on the how. I had a lovely check-in therapy session with my therapist at the end of December, and she’s excellent. I love her. She’s a fantastic therapist. I’m so thankful that I was able to find her because she’s just the bees knees.
She said, “You need to give yourself a pat on the back,” which I did. I patted myself on the back and said, “Yes!”
So I gave myself a pat on the back because she said, “You have worked hard to focus on the how and not the what.” 2024 was super hard, and I’m ready for it to shift. I’m ready for it to move into a whole new. I took steps this year not to hide, share what was going on, and reach out to my community, my friends, family, and people I trusted who could support me when they could.
My therapist said, “You really did the work to not spiral, and you deserve to pat yourself on the back for that. “And I thought, “Yes, yes, I do. “Yes, yes, yes. Oh my God. Yes.” So, 2025 is the year of Thriving and Intention. I’m not going to do an accomplishment list.
The only thing I am thoroughly thankful for is my community and its support, which mattered in 2024. I will keep my community close. Now, on my thrilling bucket list of things that I got to do in 2024 was see the Northern Lights, travel to the Arctic of Sweden, and capture a group of people who got to see and witness the Northern Lights.

It was a fantastic trip that I’ll never forget. I’m so blessed that I could do that. If I can do more trips like that, oh my God, I’m open to that. I’m so open to that. So, I will push myself outside my comfort zone regarding creative work.
I’ve had a big fear of writing in the past years, decades even. I had a mental block for years on writing. And so this year, I’m taking a step forward to say, “You know what? Let’s try this out and see where it goes.” That is something new to explore and get out of my head.
So, I will step into that, do more fun, creative things, be more present in my life, and create more moments of joy, laughter, and curiosity.
I have an overly analyzed brain, and I think about many things. I overthink things a lot. But I have let time take hold and pause when I overanalyze things and talk to people about them, and then I take more time. When I return to it, it changes and is something different.
That in itself is great. So yeah, I’m doing that. I’m putting 2025 into the universe to be an uplifting year for you and for me, wherever you are in the world, where you can also thrive and bloom into something you’ve been wanting.
If there are parts of yourself that you want to explore more, go for it. Well wishes to you for 2025! This year’s blog is all about finding my footing, being consistent, sharing more of what is happening on this side of the planet here in Italy, and sharing more heart-centric personal stories of people here in my little sphere.
